RPF New Recruitment Rules 2025: Revised Age Limit, PET, Qualification Changed

The Ministry of Railways has officially notified the RPF Revised Recruitment Rules 2025 through the Gazette of India, bringing a major change to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) recruitment process. These revised rules align the RPF recruitment with the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) standards. They introduce key updates in the RPF age limit, eligibility criteria, selection process, and physical standards. From now on, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will conduct the recruitment for RPF Constable and Sub-Inspector (Executive) posts, making the process more transparent, merit-based, and uniform across all railway zones.

RPF New Recruitment Rules 2025

The RPF Recruitment Rules 2025 introduce major reforms to modernize and standardize the recruitment process. The age limit for Constable (Executive) has been revised from 18–25 years to 18–23 years, ensuring better alignment with national security forces. The minimum height for male candidates has been increased from 165 cm to 170 cm, and chest measurements are now clearly defined as 80 cm (unexpanded) and 85 cm (expanded). While the educational qualification remains at the High School (10th) level, the selection authority has shifted from Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) to the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), matching CAPF recruitment norms. Moreover, medical examinations will now be carried out by CAPF Medical Officers or Grade-I Government Medical Officers, ensuring a uniform and transparent fitness assessment nationwide.
